CR - Understanding of Change Request
Change Request
A change request is when a customer asks to modify or adjust an existing feature or process within the product. This could be an improvement or a change to meet new requirements.
In some cases, the CR can be further defined in followings -
1. Major Change Request (MaCR)
2. Minor Change Request (MiCR)
For Customers:
- If you need an existing feature adjusted (e.g., adding a new field to a form, adjusting workflow steps), it’s a change request.
- Change requests will be reviewed to determine feasibility and impact on the overall system.
- Expect feedback on whether the change can be implemented and when it might be done.
For Staff:
- Review the change request carefully to determine its feasibility, resource impact, and technical constraints.
- Gather detailed requirements from the customer to ensure that expectations are clear.
- Estimate the effort and resources needed to implement the change.
- Communicate with the customer regarding timelines, potential costs, and any limitations of the change request.
